Glenlivet 12 200th anniversary

A special Glenlivet to celebrate a huge milestone for the distillery’s 200th year since gaining a licence after the Excise Act in 1824. Glenlivet is one of the most important distilleries in Scotland for a number of reasons, and its historical significance can not be overplayed.

There is so much to talk about with the distillery, more than I can do on one post for a whisky of the week, but the short of it is without Glenlivet, our beloved whisky industry looks a whole different today. The whisky itself is solely matured in American oak casks, which give it a sweet, tangy lot with a lot of tropical fruit and orchard fruit. The perfect whisky to start a night with.
